A Letter From Our Founder-- I am a breast cancer survivor. The fight has been an arduous one, but I have had family, friends, and many medical professionals helping me through it. In fact, I have often thought that the entire community was cheering me on from the many calls, cards, letters, flowers, and meals I've received. I am so very grateful for your love and support. I couldn't have done it without you! Breast cancer will strike one out of seven women in the United States and approximately 41,000 will die from it this year. My own experience and my concern for my family, friends, and all women moved me to reach out to help women diagnosed with breast cancer. I believe I've been called to help women endure and improve their quality of life throughout their treatment. It takes many professionals to help women through this process and insurance coverage does not pay for all services. For that reason, I established the Hope Lives! Breast Cancer Support Center to help provide women with complementary healthcare services for those who need them. Our inaugural event took place in November 2001, and we were delighted by the local community's incredibly positive response and enthusiastic participation. We look forward to carrying the enthusiasm of the past years far into the future. There are few families in Larimer County or Windsor that haven't been touched in some way by breast cancer. Join us today in helping make a difference in the lives of these families. .....With love and compassion, LYDIA
